An area that children enjoy at CNPS is the band program which begins in Year 4 (try outs are in Years 3 and 4, as well as students entering our school in the Year 5 OC class),
Caringbah North PS conducts 3 bands at the school.
Senior– children must own their own instrument and audition successfully. This group meets weekly. Arrangements for purchasing instruments can be made through the school.
Training (Year 4 and OC) – each year this program targets Year 4 and new Year 5 children. Instruments are available for hire. This group meets weekly in school hours. The Training Bands help children develop their musical ability and allows them to move on to our Performing Band.
They have a great deal of fun, especially at the Band Camp, and enjoy performing before family and friends on many different occasions - both at school, as well as at public venues such as Sutherland Entertainment Centre and competitions at outside venues.
Weekly tutorials are conducted for all bands. Fees are involved with each tutorial group.
Rehearsals are held in the school hall and a timetable for tutorials is sent home with each students.
