Our school values school sport carnivals and the role it can play in supporting the wellbeing of students and their connection to school.
The annual school swimming carnival is a school event, and all students in years 3-6 are expected to attend the carnival.
Any student in Year 2 who turn eight in 2025 and can confidently swim 50 metres is eligible to compete in the carnival. ONLY STUDENTS THAT CAN COMPETITIVELY SWIM 50M TO ATTEND.
- Students will compete in events based on the age they turn this year (2025). Where there are heats, places will be awarded based on the fastest times, not places in each race.
- All participating students must be able to swim 50m without stopping.
- All students will undertake a safe water entry induction prior to the carnival. If your child has no experience with 'dive starts', they may prefer to start from the water.
- Students (Years 3-6) who are unable to swim 50 metres or who do not wish to compete will be supervised and encouraged to support their friends.
Please note: this is a normal school day for students, so if your child will not be attending the carnival they will still attend school and be split into another class for the day.
